Instead of getting off the PC and making sure your family are okay as a real man would, search what you should do when your city gets hits by a hurricane and your family are sleeping on Google.

1. Get Off TTG.
2. Check On Family.
3.Dont Check Outside, To See The Damage,Most Deaths Occur That Way.
4.If You See Anything Real Bad, Report It To The Authorities. (Possible Power Lines Down,Gas Leaks, Possible Fire Hazards.)
5. If Everything Is Okay, Either Occupy Yourself Cleaning Up Till Daytime, Or Go Back To Bed Until The Daytime, When Everyones Up And Awake.

Anyways. OP, get the hell off the PC it'll crash if you get struck by lightning.

Not always, it depends on the severity of the storm, your house should have earthing rods and if your house isnt comnected by overhead wires you should be alright, only if its a very powerful lightning storm should you worry, you can also buy surge guard sockets which help stop your tech items being surged by electricity. Oh and whatever you do, never use your landline in a lighting storm, only ever use cordless phones or cell phones, if you are struck and the lightning gets into your house electrics holding onto the landline phone can kill you, just a word of warning there

Oh and dont listen to anyone saying go outside, these people are stupid as the best place to be durning a storm is in a house. Just ride it out and wait till its over, i had a very heavy storm here last night, it was interesing to watch but everything was fine

Maybe your family isn't sleeping, maybe they died because a big tree fell through the house and smashed them..All because your on TTG while this is happening.

unplug your console for sure! your tv's also. my xbox and ps3 blew out one time by lighting....
