Well i'm buying a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition OC 2GB graphics card for my first build and was wondering if it was worth it to pick up another one and crossfire it. Also would i need a cooling system for those or will my case fans be enough. Thanks in advance.

Depends, 3 case fans should be enough for it but you might want some more. Since its your first build, I would not recommend doing crossfire because of the possibility of needing to add fans but if your confident, do it.

You're going to crossfire the 7870 off the bat? If you are, why? It'd be more wise if you went with the single best video card now, the 680 fitting this description so you'll get better performance now, less scaling issues, cooler temperatures, and an open PCIE slot to drop another one at a later date. Whether or not your cards will suffer from poor ventilation or not will entirely depend on the card its-self and overall setup ( I.E if the fans blow the air from the GPU directly in to the case, a lot of Gigabyte cards with the 3 fan design are manufactured like this for example ). Adding more case fans does not automatically = cooler temperatures - Eggxpert did a thread about this and testing it, unfortunately I can't provide a link right this second.
