Just wondering... thinking about buying one, but i know there will likely be a new xbox by christmas 2013 and it seems unlikely they will ever be online again.

They may never be online again, but, you can still host some lobbies. Such as XP, and CoD4(5) infectable system link menus.

Don't buy one your one of this kids " is there any point there not online no more" there are plenty of more things on your jtags than just hosting lobby's etc im not gonna lie because people will hate I host lobby's but have different things on there other than patches for cods I have

Home brew games I have just downloaded Off the Internet I have raven
There are emulators you can get mario kart all the old games
I have old Xbox original games
If you gonna buy one don't just host lobbies for there money they are worth buying as they are better
