So I'm going to explain this using a dazzle.

What you want to do is take your composite cables and plug them into your hd tv and flip the switch to standard. Then plug your standard def cables (red,yellow,white cables) into the dazzle and have that plugged into your computer. Turn your xbox on and you should be able to record.
NOTICE: doing this is easy, but you will not have sound throigh the tv if you plugged the sound into the dazzle, if you don't want sound on the video but you want it on your tv just plug the sound cable to your tv. Or if you have turtles plug them into your tv and your good to go.
