Ok I have downloaded and burned windows 7 64bit ultimate edition.
But when I boot it just loads windows xp pro my current os help please

After you burned it on the disk, you did run it from the disk correct? If you don't do that then it will not work when the computer restarts.

put the disc as first in boot order via BIOS.

None of this helped but got it working by running it from a external drive thanks anyway
