However, it has too much contrast and it is monotone. I feel like if you added colours it would be a much more exciting piece.

Know that I look at it that way, you are right but that would have been useful information before, when I still had photoshop and my psd of this. (Don't ask about the photoshop, I am trying to get it back)

really cuz the first word that came to my mind was monotone
theres only one color here, and limited shades. the effects look nice but they start to blend into the focal making it look bad and lose depth. also render placement is poor, google the rule of thirds
