my friends 4th gen ipod touch running firmware 5.1.1 got stuck in dfu mode. when plugged into pc. redsn0w just keeps saying "unknown device: DFU Mode". when i click jailbreak, it says unexpected error. help pleaaaase! any suggestions besides system restore would be greatly appreciated! +rep to first person to get it working!!!

Download tinyumbrella and click exit recovery mode.

This MIGHT work its meant for recovery mode but it COULD work

hold down the home button and power button at the same time for like 20 seconds (maybe 30) until the apple comes up this should work seeing as this is how I Get my device to boot when it's in DFU

Restore in iTunes then use absinthe to jailbreak it it's worked fine for me and u don't even need to put it in dfu mode to jailbreak
