So about a year ago, i got this broken red ring of death xbox (3 red rings) It looked like the person who had it before me tried to fix it but did a very poor job. Its a 2006 model, and i believe it may be jtagable. Anyways i tried fixing it with a heatgun but it didn't work so i gave up and let it collect dust for a year.

The xclamps look broken, and it causes the heat sink to move when i touch it.

But now i want to fix it (cause i need a new xbox) so anybody know what i should do? i'll +rep for help

Should i heat gun it again, and get new clamps? or could it be a problem with like the graphics chip or some other thing like that?

i remember the error code was unknown but i dont know what the error code is exactly.

Pay about 20$ on an xclamp replacement. Then you can get it Jtagged for 20$. But you won't be able to use it for online so you might aswell get another xbox off ebay.

So If You Have That One You Must've Had a Primary One. Therefore Use The Parts. Genius

You Would Replace The X-Clamps.

And Also, Be Sure To Clean The HeatSink. And Apply New Heat Solvent.

Lastly, My Name Is Albert Eintein !

do a proper reflow! give it another shot if you like.. if not it will most likely need to be reballed. and also check the secondary error code, that should help a lot!
