Ok well I have a dell laptop that has just internal hd graphics and i want to get a new graphics card. but i have heard i will need to get a new motherboard to update my graphics card. Can some confirm this and if it is true can you tell me how much it would cost?

I doubt this is even possible and whoever told you this doesn't realize how much skill may be needed and the cost you have to factor in. Laptops are really limited when it comes to upgrades - most people can only upgrade RAM and chuck in another 1.8'' - 2.5'' SSD/HDD. The Intel HD graphics are running off of your CPU and I doubt there would be an opening to just chuck a 670m in there likes it's nothing. I don't even know where you would begin to search for a laptop MOBO/GPU.
