So im trying to make me a avatar and when i try to insert a text to my photo nothing happens. Please help im new to photoshop!

Get Photoshop CS5 or CS4 they are the best.

Make sure the text is not locked.

How do i have no idea what i am talking about i just went off topic a-bit.
Try clicking the text tool then click it on your page and try to type even if the flashing line is not there. Or do you mean the layer is not showing?
