So I have been wondering why it says x86 next to my Program Files folder, so I did a search, and this one website I found said that x86 is usually associated with 32 bit systems. But earlier today I found that my computer was a 64 bit system because it said under the system properties.

So my question is why do I have a x86 Program Files Folder on a 64 bit system?

*I also have a folder that just says Program Files, but I haven't really been saving my programs to it.*

X86 is a microprocessor architecture. 64-bit is an extension to it.

This should explain it.
