The black one will probably be used as a watermark or something, and the colorful one can/could go at the top of the channel as a sort of header.

The black one isn't too bad for certain things. If you were going for a grungy/apocalyptic look on a channel then it would prob fit in quite nicely and look good. If you were going to use it for anything else though it would not fit in at all and make it all look bad.

This limits you to one style of backgrounds, which I wouldn't recommend, try a cleaner font if you want to do more stuff with it.

As for the colored version.... Blue and yellow don't mix, blue doesn't match grunge/apocalype, yellow doesn't match grunge/apocalypse, they aren't blended at all, it looks low quality, and it doesn't even look like they are even.

For the colored version try colors that match the text more, try blendign them using a gradient of some sort, and don't make it more than one layer. This will reduce the LQ effect, the bad blending, the unmatching colors, and pretty much everything else I mentioned.

Imo, I wasn't really going for a grunge-y look, more like a brushstroke'd look. I meant to clean it up a little better, but meh.

And yeah, I'm usually used to doing nothing BUT fancy, clean, elegent design, and I wanted to try deviating from the path a little.
