I've been hosting my minecraft server lately and well i've gotten a lot more members(about 10 now) and I wanted to dedicate more RAM to the server but I only have 4 GB's[2 for server(its not too laggy) to for MC] and I want more.
This is what I currently have, but i was thinking going for 8GB's just so the server can have RAM to use. If you know where to buy some RAM that has lifetime warranty for a good price pm me or just post. Thanks.

Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Type: DDR3
Speed: 1333 MHz

We we would really need to know is what mobo(Motherboard) you have. However, you can use this to tell you what the max you can support is.

Once you know that you can look around for the type you need, look at sites like play, eBuyer etc

Why don't you just rent a dedicated server? There not that expensive. And Minecraft servers dont just depend on RAM to make it smooth, its your internet connection too. Use Virpus hosting, get your self a VPS and just make your server 24/7 dedicated. PM if you want some more information

you cant host a server with more than 5-10 people with a Desktop PC, suggesting just rent one

upgrading to 8GB ram should be better.
then Use ReadyBoost feature of Windows 7 to help more
