When I download skype and run the installer I get an error.

The error says "C:\Users\Peter\Downloads\SkypeSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

Does anyone know of a solution so I can download it?

Allow skype into your firewall, or disable the firewall temporarily for the install.
Run as administrator.
Ever downloaded skype before and removed it? Could be a corrupt file preventing the new install.

Run Cmd as administrator. Type sfc /scannow

Let that run and see what it can fix. Restart PC, delete the installer and re-download & install the skype file.
