Hello,

So today my mother came home and said I had to call some guy who "knows" and builds computers.
So I did and told all the pieces I needed for my new desktop. When I said that I needed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler he started to laugh and he said that my CPU doesn't need a cooler is this true?

Well that depends on the CPU and what you want to do with it.

What CPU is it?

If you are not going to be doing any overclocking then the stock cooler that comes with the CPU will be fine.

The CPU is an Intel core i5-2500k.

It comes with its own cooler which will do fine but since you are going for a K series chip I assume you want to overclock.

In which case the stock cooler wont do a good enough job and an aftermarket cooler like the hyper 212 will be needed .

The intel Stock cooler is good, if you aren't doing a good amount of overclocking. But for the 30$ it is you can overclock better + your CPU will stay A LOT cooler.

Get the cooler if you will overclock.

If you're gonna stay on stock then keep the stock one.

If I were you I would get the cooler.

Here's what I got: "CPU doesn't need a cooler"
Well obviously a CPU needs a cooler.
