I am 15 years old and I have been hanging out with my friends a lot lately. When we hang out, we usually walk around my friends' neighborhood, ride bikes, walk to the pizza place/CVS/Shoprite, or go in the woods. Whenever we walk through the neighborhood, people are really nosy and it is really starting to bother me. We are just walking on the sidewalk minding our own business, and people from almost every house are watching us out their windows. Some of them even open their doors, walk out, and stare at us. Anytime we walk into a store, everyone gives us looks and the workers watch us and follow us around. The worker at CVS has even called on the intercom for the security cameras to watch us as soon as we entered the store. We have had the police called on us multiple times for just walking down the street. In my neighborhood, nobody would think twice about 4 kids walking down the street, so the idea of people watching us and calling their children inside when we pass is very foreign to me. I would MAYBE expect that out of a very high class neighborhood, but not out of just a middle class area. Just because we are teenagers, people think we are shoplifters, or gang members, or criminals. I really don't understand why people are scared of some kids walking down the street.

It is not even like we are wearing anything suspicious. We wear sweatshirts and jeans/shorts.

Its stereotypes nothing we can do about it.

I'm sure in 20 Years we will be like it and not realize we are doing it.

Depends on what your wearing and where you live. If you live in a ghetto/bad area they are always afraid of teens

Lmao it was hilarious cause yesterday me and my brother walked like 3 miles to my moms work (cause we didn't feel like waiting 2 hours for her) and we stopped at 7-11 and walgreens and at both places just because we had backpacks the employees had to watch us like hawks :p
