Okay so recently I noticed a massive drop in FPS while playing CS:S or any other game.
From around 40-50 to 10-15 if that.

So I checked task manager, and checked to see if I had any unwanted programs open, and everything seemed to be running as usual, but upon checking the performance tab my CPU was stuck at 100%.

This is starting to annoy me as it's making games un-playable.

I've tried running malware scanners to see if it's any malicious malware I might have picked up, but nothing cropped up.

On task manager I've noticed system idle is taking up a lot of CPU, but this shouldn't be a problem right as system idle, is basically showing how much free CPU is available.
I'm running out of idea's and I can't seem to find a solution anywhere.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Seriously unhelpful post.

I could probably get a better response from a foreign call centre.

Have you tried defragmenting your hard drive and downloading ccleaner to clean your registry?

Yes I've de-fragmented my Hard drive, my registry also using TuneUP utilities, And still no changes, cept the slight improvement as my Hard drive was at 19% fragmentation.
but still getting 100% CPU, causing a lot of un-responsive windows.

Re-seat (Take out and put back in) all of your RAM cards. I saw that this fixed another person's problem when they were running at 100% CPU Usage.

Don't see how removing and replacing my ram will effect my processor?
Either way I'll have to try that tomorrow, save losing screws ect. as it's night time.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Just saw on Google that it fixed it for someone.

By clicking Memory it will show which processes are taking the most resources in order.

End all processes you don't need to game like Chrome, Skype, etc. It should help. Also removing startup programs will definitely help.

I see you're playing on a laptop I had a similar situation a while back and it turned out to be that the processor was overheating and causing a massive performance drop. I would suggest trying a laptop cooler and see if that helps at all.
