You don't buy headphones to show off. If you think headphones get you girls/guys, you're mistaken. They're tools, not accessories. I spend big money on headphones because I love music. The best looking headphones are no headphones.

If you buy headphones to hang them around your neck, I will never speak a word to you, ever. It's like wearing a "Don't talk to me, I'm a chav" shirt or sagging your pants excessively. You just look like a tool.

Exactly. If you buy em for looks, dont buy them at all.

Oskar, where is your prosprate?

And the college looks pretty nice! It's a huge difference from Purdue, which I visited this morning. It's a lot smaller and more homely. The mass amounts of corn aren't really new to me since I live in Illinois, which isn't much of an upgrade, sadly.

If I had any control of what was displayed at Best Buy, I'd make sure an XB1000 connected to a 5W amp is right next to the Beats display.

So you're reconsidered? Since you're buying them for sound, and there are soooo many reviews out there by knowledgeable people saying they aren't any good, you're looking for alternatives right?

They were all the rage at Head-fi last year, but I find them to be way overrated. They were kind of underwhelming to me with their discordant sound, but they're still way better than Studios. I strangely liked the Ultrasone HFI580 more, even though they sound weirder. And $140 is way too much for the M50's. $100 would be a pretty good deal though. But since you have $300 saved up, you could get an Ultrasone Pro900. And it'd do you good to get a $30 CMoy amplifier for them. Or if you want to save money, the Ultrasone HFI780 would be a good alternative.
