There's no reason you can't do that, though. Keep the enclosures, unless you absolute think it's worth the effort of transplanting the drivers. It's more than likely not.

You'll need a 12V DC to 120V AC inverter that can handle the wattage of the speakers, which are relatively inexpensive. With the inverter, you can just plug it in like you would to any wall outlet.

You could always hit up Craigslist. They have a ton of car audio components listed cheap. But then you'd have to deal with... Craigslist.

thanks! you know i meant to take the speakers out, not put the stereo and everything right? and yeah, im on craigslist right now lol! but I dont trust em for electronics, they could easily, well I cant say the words, but make it so it would last for a few days, and then it go out, and you pay a hundred or more bucks...

Yeah. I would avoid Craigslist, but it's always worth perusing.

I would honestly get this done well, or not at all. You'll need to make the enclosures yourself, most likely. That's not too hard.

I'm not into car audio at all, so don't quote me on anything!
