So, here's the thing, I decided to make a little switch on my computer over to Ubuntu, the problem is that I mainly program in VB and a lil c#, so this renders my knowledge useless. I know that I can program in c++ and python on here, but where are some compilers in the software center? Can anyone give me the name of one or possibly the terminal code to install it? Thanks, I'm new to linux

Thank you so much, everytime I've had a problem, whether it was a few years ago when I started coding or now you've been the member to help me, big thanks

Any C++ compiler will run on various OS's. That's the point about C/C++.
I use Microsoft Visual C++, it gets the job done fine for what I do.

Python, Java, and C is what I would suggest. If you install the Gnome desktop environment python gets installed with it and it has a console you can use to write scripts
