I haven't seen many people post guides like these, so I'd figure I'd do one. I will cover the points that will hopefully help everyone.

The Basics

Now what you need to know about MW3 multiplayer is that it really is gun-on-gun action like Robert Bowling said before MW3 was released. On pretty much every map, there are very fast-paced firefights and hectic situations.

Weapons

Now the weapons, FUN PART. MW3's multiplayer has a large arsenal of weapons. First, decide on a category of weapons that you want to try. I would try Sub-Machine Guns first since most maps are pretty small. I've found that the UMP45, PP90M1, and MP7 are most often used in that category. If you don't like that category, just switch over to a new category like Assault Rifles. Every player is different, so every player has to find THEIR own weapon. That's why I can't give recommendations until I actually play against/with you. But I can say that I do pretty good with the Scar-L (Assault Rifle), the UMP45(Sub-Machine Gun), and the M16A4 (Assault Rifle)

Perks

Perks are what makes a player's class unique. Try different combinations to see which one you do best with. I use Scavenger, Assassin, and Dead Silence/Steady Aim depending on what weapon or map I'm looking at. What I've found is that the 1st and 2nd perk sets decide the class. The third perk set are "accessories" to your class. Like weapons, each player is unique and usually has a different perk set than that guy who went 29-7 (Me) or that guy who went 187-1(Friend). Just try different combinations and see what you like.

Strike Packages

Strike Packages are a huge difference in your gameplay. What Strike Package you use depends on what type of player you are. If you go alone, use Specialist. Specialist gives you perks as killstreaks. They reset upon death. Same with Assault. But Assault is more of a helper to the team since it actually kills people. Assault is more of the classic COD killstreak system. It resets upon death. Then there is Support. Support is very unique. This killstreak DOES NOT reset upon death. This Strike Package is for more of a team-player type of person. It has more killstreaks that will help the team than just one person.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is the heart and soul of Call of Duty. MW3 makes you on your toes when you're crawling around a corner or just walking across a bridge. This part of the guide is where I get really detailed and boring and in-depth so you can get a 99.00 ratio. For this example, we will use the map Arkaden as the example. At the stairs of Arkaden where it says "das Arkaden", there are usually a TON of people camping at the stairs or the crumbling "cliff" near the building. You want to avoid power points like that. But when you go to another direction, terrorists are pouring in like mad. But you see one doorway, you can't see any terrorists. What you need to do is throw a flash/concussion grenade into that doorway and wait to see if you got a hitmarker. If you did, go ahead, run in there and shank him/them. Alternatively, you can cook a grenade and throw it, but that's not as fun as shanking. If you don't get a hitmarker, run in to safety. This applies to every map. IW and Sledgehammer made Lethal and Tactical grenades for a reason. Use them to your advantages. When you are in a tight situation, just throw a grenade/flash. Then if you are a stealth clown, try to get out of the center as quickly as you can. If you rush, be my guest. But I am talking about stealth. That's my specialty. If you are stealthy, then you should just run around the borders of the map and picking off everyone as you go. I would use at least Assassin and a suppressed weapon. You can also Blind Eye, but that's optional. You just need to keep running and running and running and running CUCKOO! (BEP Joke). Just keep doing that and when you are low on ammo, just run in the center and get killed. Just repeat. Then when you get a good killstreak like a juggernaut, GO HAM. This strategy has gotten me 2 MOAB's so far.

Hope this guide helped, thank and +rep if it did.
