wat you could do is remove teh security setting on ur current HDD and then use that.

you can use any external or usb memory sotrage device(I beleive the format must be FAT32)

All you have to do is plug it in to your usb slot, go to memory, select your drive and click y configure device.... and your ready to go it will act same as any genuine microsoft hard disk.

if you ever choose to use it for something else you can unconfigure it or partition a certain amount of memory for other uses,like pc and still have your xbox files aswell.

Thanks, this was the idea I had but just wasn't sure If you could use a 1TB HDD cause they are too big and that they have an external power source?

this save money big time! i bought a 320HDD out of Maplin for 45pound and then i looked on amazon and a 250HDD was 97pound fo it really saves money then after that i got a Xbox hdd case off of ebay.

also when i bought the hdd out of maplin it was in a case so i just undone the screws and took the case of and hooked it up to my computer
