A regional S.W.A.T team and local police last night coaxed a 22-year-old man from his home after he threatened to harm himself and kill any police officer who tried to bring him back to jail.
Officers from Sudbury and Lincoln went to the Sudbury home first, after the unnamed man's parents went to police at about 7:45 p.m. saying they were concerned for his safety, according to a press release.
Police* called in the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT team, given the presence of a large knife, as well as potential firearms, Sudbury Police Lt. Scott Nix said.
The S.W.A.T. team used a robot to scout the layout of house, and the man eventually came out on his own, police said.
Nix said the man does not face any charges.
The man was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and Nix said he couldnt give any more information, citing patient privacy laws.
Nix said the man has been arrested before in Sudbury on substantial charges.

Nix declined to say where the home is located. He said neighbors were evacuated during the roughly six-hour standoff.
