Ok so I don't have the slightest clue if it has already been announced but I'm still going to post my theory on how many ranks there will be and how many prestiges.

To start I'm just gonna jump right in and say I think there will be 77 ranks and 10 prestiges, why? Take a look at this:

In CoD 4 there were 55 ranks per prestige and 10 prestiges that equals 550 ranks
In CoD WaW there were 65 ranks per prestige and 10 prestiges that equals 650 ranks
In Mw2 there were 70 ranks per prestige and 10 prestiges that equals 700 ranks
In Black ops there were 50 ranks per prestige and 15 prestiges that equals 750 ranks

So you can sort see a pattern emerging each game has more levels and the more recent ones have risen by 50 ranks rather than the 100 we see between CoD4 and WaW, so you see that and think why do I say there are only 77 ranks per prestige not 80 because that wouldn't fit in with the things I have just said, well take a look at this image:

Unlocked at Commander (Lv.77)

Commander is the highest rank in the CoD series and unless they decided to make a Commander I, Commander II and a Commander III I can only see it 77 levels before you reach max level.

Yes they could do exactly that and make the I, II and III ranks but then Commander would no longer be the highest rank in the game and the exclusivity of the rank wouldn't be the same.

It has probably already been announced what the max level and prestige is going to be, but I don't really care this post gave me something to do and share my views with community.

EDIT: Read the post below, makes pretty much everything I say irrelevant except the bit about 50 more ranks per game and yes I know 77 was a bit obscure but it made sense at the time.
