so ive been playing the beta for a few days now and when i fell into lava and had to restart my whole journey, couldn't find my house,lost all my items... i thought since i love minecraft so much i might as well buy it... But before i do whats the differences in the beta version and alpha version?

Alpha version gives you way more features. I'm not sure exactly because I never tried the beta version but I heard that Alpha is the best.

There really isn't. More features are added every update. (1.3, 1.4, etc.) 1.8 is coming out soon and I am stoked.
Also, Alpha is pre-beta.
