Everytime i get moon ready, the drill seems to happen randomly and I need to know if there is another way to start it.

How do you stop them? Do you have to hack them. If so how do you get to the spawn without dieing?

I got all the steps up to this part. After you hack the terminal that controls the drill, a meteor comes out of the hole that it dug. I just need to know how to start the damn things.
