Theres not an option for "Factory settings" i can only restore to a earlier time.

Any help?

if you want to restore to factory settings, grab the system restore disc that came with your computer, or grab an OS disc and insert that. that will format your drive and install a clean OS

For my laptop you would have to go to ''Advanced settings''..then there will be an option to completely restore to factory settings. Try seeing if you have that option.

i tried restoring mine less than a week ago but it only let me store 2 weeks earlier which was no use

Just use your windows disc and it'll give you an option to install windows to what hdd and just format the hdd and then just follow the install instructions.

You need the os disc to reset to factory settings also called "Formatting".

If laptop is under 2yr old then check your BIOS boot screen you might have factory installed partition on HDD
