If there was a prowler out that night then why the hell would he go to sleep and leave his girlfriend and step daughter on their own?

This is very sad..

Um the dad should lose his gun licence,you do not put it on the table, he should keep it on him or beside his bed at least..

So I am guessing they had a shooting game for the Wii, as the child had mistaken the firearm for the Wii gun, so why did the parents expose a toddler to these games in the first place?

If the firearm was pointing toward the toddler the trigger would need to be pulled the other way, the toddler would need to do this with their thumb, which would not be an easy task.

Why wasn't the safety engaged?
