Im needing some help trying to get dashlaunch to work right so i can play new arcade games and have xex menu load as default or FSD. Im also using a 1Tb external as my hdd instead of a reg 360 hdd. if anyone can point me to a good tut id really appreciate it.

First make sure you are running the latest version 2.22.
Put the installer xex on your USB drive and put the example launch.ini on the root of the USB drive.
Run the Installer xex (default.xex) and press A to install (or whatever it asks for).
It may want you to install patches, say yes if it does.
It will find the launch.ini on your USb and ask if you want to customise it. Say yes and go through all the questions.
Once done, it will shutdown your Xbox.
Power back up, go find that launch.ini, open it up and change the parameters to point to your XexMenu folder.
I have it set to default to FSD and if i want the stock Dash, i hold A during boot.
This is an excert from my launch.ini where you define the default dash :
