You may or may not have heard about the rumors of Treyarch helping Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software with Modern Warfare 3, so that Modern Warfare 3 could have a Zombies mode as well. Weve said the rumor was false, but we didnt say Modern Warfare 3 wont have their own variant of the Zombies mode.
No Treyarch isnt helping with a Zombies mode for Modern Warfare 3. No Modern Warfare wont include the Zombies mode Treyarch made us fall in love with. The Zombies mode is Treyarchs baby and the developers of Modern Warfare 3 arent touching the Zombies idea.
But this doesnt mean Modern Warfare 3 wont have a game mode which looks like Treyarchs Zombies mode. We know Infinity Ward introduced the Spec Ops mode with Modern Warfare 2 and with Modern Warfare 3 they intend to expand the Spec Ops mode by including a separate mode within the Spec Ops mode. This mode will be called Survival.
As the name gives away, you will have to survive for as long as you can fighting your way through increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Sounds familiar? According to the leaked information, Modern Warfare 3 will include 5 Survival maps.
Carbon
Dome
Radar
Seatown
Village
Its not certain whether Modern Warfare 3 will ship with these 5 Survival maps, or whether some of these maps will comes to us later in the form of Map Packs. And because were still over 5 months away from the release of Modern Warfare 3, some adjustments can take place.
We know 1 thing for sure and that is; The developers of Modern Warfare 3 did a good job coming up with the Survival game mode. They didnt blatantly steal the Zombies mode, yet they came up with a mode which is similar to the Zombies mode. Whether Modern Warfare 3s Survival Mode will be as successful as the Treyarchs Zombies mode, only time will tell. But Im definitely looking forward to give the Survival mode a try
