Xbox One button remapping coming to all controllers “soon”

It’s no longer an option just for the Elite.

You’ll soon be able to remap the controllers on all Xbox One controllers, according to Xbox Gaming manager Mike Ybarra.

Remapping had only been previously confirmed for the Xbox One Elite controller, which retails at $150.

Button remapping lets players reassign the controls on their pad to their liking. It’s a feature that came to the PS4 earlier this month.

I am sure this will be useful for some people but I am just stuck in my ways and I don't think I would change anything. It would mess me up more then actually help me play better.

Raizel I think it will be a little weird for just normal controller's since they don't have the extra buttons in the back.

its easy its just firmware for the controller...


Apparently its not to easy or this is something that we would have had already.

Also, I dont know why they would do this, it'll hurt the sales of the elite controller.

They have many ideas they haven't released yet, they can't put everything out at once or everyone will get bored by the time the console is half way through its life. They put release dates and schedule things and work on new things in free time


PS4's had it for a little while. It's okay for certain games where you can't change the game's controls. It won't hurt the sales of the elite controller, it can't. This firmware doesn't magically give you four extra buttons to use.

It's meant to make it so that the A button can be the B button or whatever you want.
