GTA 5 reaches 34 million shipped

Grand Theft Auto V has shipped more than 34 million units, according to Rockstar parent company Take-Two.

That means the game moved some 1 million copies in the fiscal quarter which ended June 30, 2014 - Take-Two reported that the game had shipped 33 million copies by the end of its previous quarter.

The game's PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions are scheduled to release in autumn, meaning that figure is due to jump again.

Rockstar has said the new-gen version will feature "across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail". GTA 5's PS4 version will have some unspecified exclusive features or content to tempt players onto Sony's console.

Take-Two posted slight losses for the first quarter of its 2015 fiscal year. Its net revenue was up despite the lack of major new releases, led by GTA 5, NBA 2K14, and Borderlands 2.

Sanctorum This isn't really surprising to me in all honesty. It's a fantastic game and almost everyone was looking forward to it. I don't know anyone who has a console and doesn't have this game. I can only expect those numbers to increase with the release of PC and next gen versions.

Its GTA, a game people wait for. Its the perfect game IMO

They deserve this for making such a kick ass game.
I think sales will start to rise even more, perhaps way more when next gen releases.

At least its better than hearing "OMG COD AR" or "OMG BFHARDLINE"

Honestly this game gets boring after a while.
But still offers more fun than any COD game.
Which only offers news maps and some other worthless crap for 14.99...

GTA is the pinnacle of open world games. Definitely more copies to be sold with the game coming out on the next gen consoles and PC.
