Microsoft promises its E3 conference will focus heavily on games

4.7
The big hullaboo of E3 draws ever nearer and as everyone eagerly awaits another year's worth of announcements for the big event, we're starting to get some idea of Microsoft's presence at the annual expo.

Good ol' Phil Spencer has been chatting on Twitter (as spotted by CVG), and he answered a question directed to him about the conference by confirming that this year's MS showing will be more game focused with "very few execs". Phil also mentions how they already have so much stuff that MS are having to move stuff out of their 90-minute slot during the show.

Phil's also been speaking a little bit more at GDC after his comments earlier in the week about ID@Xbox

On the recent trend in VR headsets in the wake of the Oculus Rift and Sony announcing their own Project Morpheus Eurogamer reports he said:
"One of the things we have is this huge Microsoft research organisation that is important to us as platform holders in helping us think what might came next. That's where Kinect came from, it's where voice recognition came from, it's where Drivatar came from."

"Looking at things like Oculus, Morpheus - they haven't sent me one yet, but maybe they will - when I think about VR and the uses of it in gaming, I think there's a real "there" there"

Do you want to see a VR headset at the Xbox E3 event this year? If not, what else would you like to see? Let us know in the comments.

Good to see them focus on games but there are a lot of good games coming out already but good to see more will be coming.

Now that the consoles are out it will primarily be about games.

daRealRush They need to focus on games, last year. The only thing they focused on, was Television.

They have always heavily focused on games, they had to show the tv aspects and apps too, and they did at the console reveal. Since the console reveal all it's been about is games. Obviously you do not follow technology news.

Oasis Hopefully they talk about Battlefront, Games with gold, Far cry 4 and loads of other cool things.

Just leave out the cod sections, no one cares anymore.

Far Cry should have it's reveal spot, hope sledge hammer don't mess it all up.

HALO 2 ANNIVERSARY with halo 5 beta would be good as a Preorder bonus

I feel as if the Xbox One needs to definitely focus harder on games. The reasoning behind my purchase of a PS4 over a Xbox one is the fact that it has only a few decent games.

Yes I can see it now.....their focus on games as they have announced previously will be more of the same ID@XBOX.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the independent stuff. Its a next gen console and this stuff is never going to come up to scratch of using any of the true potential.

Listing 250 games that's are ho-hum and cost is care factor zero.

lets hope they actually show some use of the next gen console and the games they promised that are utilizing the technology.

So far its been a very lack luster launch.......and well 5 months.

I would love to see the new headset along with some exclusive games. Hopefully even something about the new Star Wars Battlefront. ;)
