Xbox One system update adds storage management, battery monitor

4.6
The Xbox One operating system had some peculiar quirks out of the box, and a system update that will propagate on February 11 will fix some of them.

In particular, it will allow users to see how much storage space they’re using on the console’s internal hard drive. It will also introduce a battery indicator for the controller, and compatibility with USB keyboards. Screenshot of the build below:

On March 4 an additional system update will revamp the console’s party system in preparation for the launch of Titanfall later that month.

“This is the first of many announcements and sneak peeks at features in the system updates. We’ve been carefully listening to your feedback and look forward to delivering many new features that will make Xbox One even better,” said Microsoft. “We’re just getting started and can’t wait to share more information in the coming weeks.”

Folk This took way too longer then it should.

Just be thankful you're getting. They didn't have to do this you ungrateful scrub.

Why are you calling him ungrateful? He is a consumer who purchased their productshe is entitled to complain about its downfalls and issues. Especially when something as simple as storage management of YOUR console is not included.

I don't understand why everyone is saying that this should have been in the initial release. They stated back in October that "Storage Management" would be coming shortly after launch and with the battery they said "We will be periodically updating within the first six months to add the little things." So can you all stop boosting your Comments by saying something that is completely irrelevant?

iOS8 This should have been included during the initial release.

They did not have enough time to do this and it was not a Required thing they needed, so they decided to wait on it
