-Fletcher wrote To be honest if a result like this, especially just when it looked like Utd were scrounging together some sort of form should really kick some sense into LVG, he can't force his ideologies to work in a club where they obviously aren't he needs to learn to stop being so stubborn and adapt, or he should frankly leave the premier league.

He is pretty arrogant, he's a good enough manager to just follow what fergie did, obviously he wouldn't be as good but he doesn't need to force his own philosophy onto won of the worlds biggest football clubs.

Love this quote, well done Cambridge.

OhDiegoCosta wrote I'm not being funny, if Moyes got that result, United fans would be digging his grave. LVG gets away with it because he's not Moyes.

That's not to mention United being desperate for silverware and having already experiencing disappointment with the 4-0 loss to MK Dons in the other cup.

Hope United fans give him stick.

Don't think it's enough to lose his job or anything crazy like that but if you're going to treat Moyes terribly when he screws up, show some equality and dish out the same to LVG

Well that's what separates him and moyes, Van Gaal has a backbone and Moyes didn't.
But I can see where you're coming from and he does need to be giving stick as that's how managers get better.

I was hoping he could get us guaranteed CL for the next few seasons and maybe some silverware chucked in to then give the job to Gigsy, early days still we'll just have to wait and see.

But does he have a backbone? Your 60 million pound midfielder looks out of place, Van Persie and Falcao couldn't score and the passing was all over the place yet LVG didn't even leave him seat. Didn't seem emotive at all; just kept writing in his notepad.

The best managers have always been emotive (think Fergie... If you'd performed like that under Fergie, he'd be outraged)

Yeah agreed, he needs to stop trying to replicate what he done previously in other clubs and focus on what's right for this one.

We all know he's got the experience and reputation for the job, just look at what he achieved with Holland in the world cup.

Got a nice little laugh from that. Still, it does epitomise the divide between the two clubs. This return tie is a huge financial moment in Cambridge United's season yet to Manchester United, it just represents a burden and a waste of their players' fitness. Two very different worlds for the clubs - Makes the result seem even more impressive from a Cam perspective

I know i'm using the Sport Bible as a source far more than I should - but if it is in fact true that Odegaard can get regular minutes in the Castilla side rather than on the bench then he may be able to develop as a player further than I would've forecasted

Yep, noticed that. Either he's off to Wolfsburg/Dortmund or is still ill/picked up a knock

Think he must be on his way out, having watched Mourinho play these games for years, it looks to me as if he will sign Cuadrado, or at least another winger.
