FT: 0-0

United nowhere near good enough tonight. Cambridge were heroic but when you've got Falcao/RVP/Di Maria/etc., you've got to be winning

How some UTD fans adore him is crazy , I dont know maybes its just because im used to Jose for years and years , But i have watched some of his press conferences and im amazed by the reactions.

Saw one where he was talking about people were saying to go to 4-4-2 but he didnt like it because it caused "Twichy bum" and he said it about 3-4 times and the journos laughed everytime ,It was the most boring shit ive ever seen , He then said "My system worked for 8-9 games and then we lost one and it gets critized" IF YOUR OWN FANS HATE THE WAY YOU PLAY , THEN ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE.

Im not even a UTD fan and i love to see them struggle but FFS im even pissed off with him.

Literally couldn't wait to get back into this thread after that result! I am astonished! Someone needs to tell either LVG or Angel (whoever has made the decision) that he is about as useful as binoculars to a blind man in the centre of the park.

Yeah he needs to pick the right formation, the right starting eleven and the right playing style.
Credit to Cambridge though, now they can come to old trafford.

I'm not being funny, if Moyes got that result, United fans would be digging his grave. LVG gets away with it because he's not Moyes.

That's not to mention United being desperate for silverware and having already experiencing disappointment with the 4-0 loss to MK Dons in the other cup.

Hope United fans give him stick.

Don't think it's enough to lose his job or anything crazy like that but if you're going to treat Moyes terribly when he screws up, show some equality and dish out the same to LVG

Well that's what separates him and moyes, Van Gaal has a backbone and Moyes didn't.
But I can see where you're coming from and he does need to be giving stick as that's how managers get better.

I was hoping he could get us guaranteed CL for the next few seasons and maybe some silverware chucked in to then give the job to Gigsy, early days still we'll just have to wait and see.

To be honest if a result like this, especially just when it looked like Utd were scrounging together some sort of form doesn't really kick some sense into LVG I don't know what will, he can't force his ideologies to work in a club where they obviously aren't he needs to learn to stop being so stubborn and adapt, or he should frankly leave the premier league.

But does he have a backbone? Your 60 million pound midfielder looks out of place, Van Persie and Falcao couldn't score and the passing was all over the place yet LVG didn't even leave him seat. Didn't seem emotive at all; just kept writing in his notepad.

The best managers have always been emotive (think Fergie... If you'd performed like that under Fergie, he'd be outraged)
