That's a bit harsh. There are both Theistic and Atheistic Luciferians, and neither of them deserve to be assaulted.

Atheistic Luciferians don't worship Lucifer as though he were a real entity, they use his characteristics to feed a philosophy on life.
They see the character of Lucifer as comparable to the Titan Prometheus who gave humans fire, our first real piece of technology which has fed our expansion for thousands of years, despite the Gods telling him not to and punishing him for this deed for eternity.
They don't view Lucifer as an evil entity, they view him as a good role model because of his rebellion against absolutism and believe that he encourages people to reach their own potential.

Theistic Luciferians do believe that Lucifer actually exists, but they view him as a righteous teacher and friend in times of need.
They don't view him as the villain of the Bible, they view him as another entity trying to help humans in a different way to the Judeo-Christian God.

Are either of these people asking to be assaulted? Are either of these beliefs any more detrimental to human society than Christianity, Judaism, or Islam? I don't think so.

I was refering to satanists as a whole and not one specific type or belief within the religion. There's parts of the religion that commit sacrifices and horrifc crimes and I didn't see you asking him what type of satanist he was until after my post. I just saw he was a satanist and I'd rather not take my chances with any satanist.

They should really change their name too or make a new religion if they don't want to be hated by society, the name itself suggests they woship the devil which is obviously immediately looked down upon.

Not to mention, at-least there's some solid evidence that Jesus existed, there's documents from Tacitus and the Roman governor of Judea. He definately existed, whether or not he had actual powers though is up to debate.

There are parts of most religions which commit horrific crimes.
You wouldn't throw water over regular Christians while shouting 'Allahu Akbar' or vice versa just because some Christians are violent.

Satanists have been vilified since the Satanic Panic in the 80s. Accusations of child molestation, rape and murder which all turned out to be false. That is why Satanists are viewed as violent criminals today. You should want to be above that group condemnation and judge them individually as people instead.
