Its not a keylogger. A keylogger does exactly as the name says it logs your key strokes.. that has nothing to do with remote controling the PC. Most likely a rat but im curious what you were doing or trying to do to even get such a thing on your pc?

boot the pc up in safe mode ( usual f8 or f11 when you boot )
choose to start up with safe mode
do a system restore
once the restore is finished use f-secure online scanner or malwarebytes or something to remove the keylogger

You've probably been ratted like previously mentioned. Don't enter any bank details ect until you know your computer is fixed. Also, cover up your webcam with sticky tape or something as more than likely he can see you through the camera.

Happened to me when I was younger, dude tricked me into thinking my computer was alive, he did all sorts of crazy shit.

Not going to lie, that happened to me.

Dont know if its been mentioned but try DarkComet remover because most people will end up using that because its simple and easy to make.

This is not a keylogger. As Rizzah said, a keylogger records the keys you press, it has no access to your computer at all because it just steals your information and you wouldn't even know it was there, also your antivirus wont detect it.

The virus you have, is what's known as a RAT (Remote administration tool) it lets the hacker do whatever he wants with your computer, such as search things, edit files ETC.

If it was a keylogger, it would be far worse, he would have access to all your usernames and passwords, as well as any info you've entered on the computer (credit cards ETC)

OP, reset your computer and change all of your passwords, especially social media/bank details and don't download fishy things like that again

Wot wrote This is called getting 'keylogged'
I was keylogged once.
The way I fixed it was I turned off my wifi , and system restored my computer. I restored it to a far back date, so it would erase the keylog.

This is not get keylogged. A keylogger is a type of surveillance software (considered to be either software or spyware) that has the capability to record every keystroke you make to a log file, usually encrypted. A keylogger recorder can record instant messages, e-mail, and any information you type at any time using your keyboard. What the person was probably using is a rat. OP just get a flash drive or secondary drive and copy your important files over to that drive and hope that those files are not infected. Then install a fresh copy of what ever operating system you want.

You said that a keylogger has nothing to do with a rat, but it does. If you have been ratted then the person who gave you the rat can also have a keylogger installed on your computer.

If you get ratted with darkcomet then you need to learn more about an antivirus. Pretty much any antivirus can detect DarkComet( I even think that windows builtin antivirus). I assuming that you had antivirus disabled, that would probably be the reason that you got ratted in the first place.

There are things called crypters. They make files fully undetectable by anti-viruses. Most hackers don't know how to crypt files which is why so many of them get detected.

The other thing you said about OP putting his stuff on a memory stick, loads of RATs have spreaders, so when you put a memory stick in the infected computer, that memory stick will transfer the virus to any computer it enters. That's hard to do though, but OP should be aware of that.

And the RAT only works when you're logged onto the computer and have an internet access, so you'd notice the hacker installing a keylogger.

Some pretty useful stuff you said as-well though
