This is a hot topic discussion right now with game companies making it more difficult to crack their games. I dont think just cause 3 has a cracked version yet and I remember it took people near a month to crack dragon age inquisition.

Anyway, how do you feel about people pirating games? Ive never pirated a game and I dont plan on it. Games are already cheap on PC anyway having games be 50% off the day it comes out so I mean there is no need to even really get these cracked games imo.

Arguments I hear alot are "I want to see if I can run it" well you have eyes dont you? Read the requirements and read what you have. If the game is a bad port *cough* batman arkam knight, trust me youll hear about it. Why do you need to crack the game to experience the limitation yourself. "I want to try the game before I buy it" ok well apply that logic to anything else in your day. You go to the store and see a new candy bar you want, it looks good, youve read the reviews about it, but you just dont want to pay for it.. So you steal this chocolate bar and a police officer sees you, you are now spending the night in a jail cell. Obviously an exaggeration but you get the point, why is online piracy so over looked and almost accepted by so many users? "Well games suck nowadays so I dont want to buy them" well then dont play them at all, this one has NEVER made sense to me, if you think that the quality of games are going down then why even bother tormenting the game? Another one I hear is "well I torrent the game and if I like it ill buy it on steam" this is based off of personal experience but I dont know ANYONE that has actually tormented a single player game and then bought it... im sure it happens and good for you but all my friends who've pirated games never buy them afterwards.

I think its obvious im against online piracy at this point but im open to talk about it. What are your thoughts on this subject and if you do pirate all of your games or even some tell me why. Hopefully someone can make a good argument that isnt already made above.

I just buy my games TBH

and with the "I want to try the game before I buy it" argument with steam refunds now active you can just buy it and if you don't like it just refund it

Quick post since I'm on mobile but depending on the users intentions. I've pirated games, actually super recently. American truck simulator was cracked a few days before release. I took that opportunity to download it, try out and later, brought the game.

I'm all for that since games are priced way more than they are worth so trying before you buy is something that I will suggest doing and do myself.

In a perfect world where everyone did what you did I see no issue, going out on a limb here im just going to assume most people who get cracked games dont go onto buy them.

On a side note I kinda really want american truck sim

Im 50/50 on the subject. I occasionally pirate games im on the fence about, I pirated Fallout 4, and honestly, I didn't like it, so it saved me $60.
But if I pirate something I like, I go out and buy it. I don't know why but I lack any motivation to play/complete pirated games, unless they're impossible to find on the web.

Mhmmm interesting, if you pirate a game but lack motivation to complete it do you buy the game or leave it as it is? Ive never heard that one before.

Generally ill complete it if i've bought it. Im one of those people who like to have it on their account and have stats like achievements or time played and stuff like that. Its odd I know but eh, thats me.

With the new Denuvo systems I think games companies have done well. They can make it harder, but i doubt they'll make it impossible.
