in-case you are not from the UK- teens in the UK (or Scotland) from the age of 14 get £70 gbp (107 usd) every 2 weeks providing their family at home doesn't make enough money, this is because of the EMA scheme (Education Maintenance Allowance) now what gets me is how only certain people get it, i get that some people need it, but i personally think everyone should get it, there are people out there that spend their entire 70 pounds in 1 day on alcohol & drugs and that makes me sick!

**I am not hating on those that get the money and spend it sensibly (on clothes or games etc) but those that get it to drink it away*

What are your thoughts?

It's given to people that need it, so why would something like that be given to everybody if they are fortunate enough to already have that? I mean, you still get your child benefits, which is to be spent on clothes etc.

I see what you mean about how they spend it, but that could be related to how they are brought up. I mean if you are claiming that allowance there are going to be some who haven't been brought up to know any better.

I may start another rant here but it's related to yours.
Alcoholics get A LOT more money then people who are on benefits. I think it's stupid because they're just gonna spend the money on beer. It's basically leading them on to drink more.

In the US here teens get nothing, I don't see the need for it where you are. Why wouldn't it just go to the parents?

Your parents get the money, and they don't always give the money back equally.

Why don't the teenagers just get a job? I find this dumb.
