TrapMusic wrote What S30 is saying, what if one of your family is in danger or is hurt, or needs you urgently, and you don't have your phone.

Then, it is there fault for you not having your phone on you.

Your phone is not meant to be on during school hours. If you are needed urgently they ring the school who contact the student.

Does no one know basic school rules?

Yeah, we are usually allowed to bring out our phones during an earthquake or fire alarm so we can tell our parents we are ok. I do agree that the teachers should really cut back on this. Like if my phone falls out of my pocket, but it is off, why the fvck should you need to take it??

You're in school to learn, teens are typically distracted by social media and their phone is a medium to such things. There's also the fact that you're not concentrating on your lesson if you're texting, tweeting, facebooking etc...

They do it for your own wellbeing. Use your phone at dinner or on a break etc.

Your making the assumption that teens are distracted because of the phone, not every student is the same or learns the same so who does one think they are to tell me that my phone distracts me? Schools need to adapt to how much the younger generation relies on technology, the "rules" are outdated for the students now a days society is changing and the school needs to have dynamic rules to suit that.

I agree. I was 18 and a senior when my dad was diagnosed with a really bad heart infection and was liable to go into cardiac arrest at any time. Even during the benchmark testing my phone was at least in the teachers pocket so if it rang and it was my dad I knew I had to leave.

Thankfully he was able to watch me graduate but died 5 months ago to a stroke.

The younger generation need computers and IT skills, not texting and tweeting during classes. I don't get what is hard to understand about not needing a phone during lessons? Need to do calculations? Use a calculator. Need an answer for a question? Ask the teacher, use the syllabus textbooks, or use the computers available.

I'm going to jump in mid conversation.

I get what Fielding is saying, but the issue is that some people did not abide by them rulse and ruined it for others. Phones can be great tools for learning. Researching, education apps and even word documents to name a few things that can be done in the. but it's the people that used it to browse social media and whatnot that ruined it for others.

Ps: typed on my phone

It gets so much easier as you grow up in school with cell phones.

College is completely different, I remember in High School They hated phones but in College the teachers seriously couldnt care less what you are doing, they are just bothered that you showed up to the lesson. been in college for a few weeks now and i dont think any of us have done any proper work yet!
