I don't care if people call soccer football, its when they tell me that what my idea of football is, isn't football.

Qwel wrote If im speaking to an English person weather it be at work, at the store, whatever and it just so happens to be that we are talking about sports I will say "American Football" so they understand what im talking about, if im speaking about soccer I will just say "football" and well im also Hispanic so if Im speaking to my vatos ill say "futbol"

Hey to me man it all depends on who im talking to.
Exactly. That's how I view the subject. I'm American, so if another American walks up to me and starts talking about "football", but is really referring to our soccer then it just makes me want to smack them. Maybe it's because I don't ever watch "soccer", so I don't ever call it football. Now if an American was talking to a person from another country where it is called football, then by all means call it football. I just hate being confused as to whether or not a fellow American is trying to talk about American football or soccer. But obviously I don't think it's a huge issue, I can always just ignore it and move on, but it's just one of my pet peeves.

I know the people in that post were being extremely childish.. It was all over the name of a sport then people started bringing in stereotypical terms criticising each other for no reason.

I don't see it as something that should cause argument, it's just a difference in cultures

It's a pretty pointless thing to argue about. I remember back in the day on black ops. Some kid was listening to me and a friend talking about the UK football teams and he just started talking trash to us

Now all this topic will do is create arguments between UK and US. Even the first reply from Wife is saying US is better than UK...

That's the internet for you.

You obviously didn't understand my post. What I said and meant was arguing about which ever country is better is pointless. Arguing which ever one is better is been something that's been going on for years and it's like beating a dead horse.

You worded it really weirdly. You mentioned UK arguing with US is pointless but not other way around and I see you have even edited your wording. So I clearly didn't understand because of your terrible set out sentence.

Also why post again then edit it into your post? There's no need for both.

Any kind of country disagreement is stupid. Both countries have their faults whether it be with spelling, sayings, politics, or anything of the sort.
