I personally don't mind if people do it. If they have the extra money and they want to help someone good for them. I would only hope that people that deserve gold get it. I often see new accounts entering giveaways and sometimes winning. There's no good way to know if they will be around for a while. I didn't go through every response but I am sure someone at least said something similar.

If there gifting randoms who dont deserve it then I agree with you but then if they are gifting people who deserve it there being generous so im all for that.

I used to gift those who deserved it. Don't at the mo since I'm living on my own on an apprenticeship wage and can't afford to dish out so £5 per person at the mo haha!

Hey if they wanna spend money on the site then so be it.
It is supporting running the site and lucky members get the luxary of gold for free!

Same way that celebrities give to charity - to look good. I have been gifted gold before, it is quite cool.

Gold back in the day was a very rare thing to have. Nowadays nearly every user you see active has gold. You don't get respected as a gold member like users did a few years ago. It's cheap and the site is much more active so users do go the extra mile to get recognised and gift so they get the badge, but it is there money? So I don't see a problem with them putting money into the community.

Well I Plan on getting the badge soon. but wasn't planning on stopping. don't think i will gift as many as 100 but when i do get the badge might as-well keep gifting, weekly or monthly give-aways...
but if people just stop at 25. at-least they have contributed and helped people,

I've recently started gifting, honestly the badge is one of the reasons but the main being that around 5 or so people have gifted me since I've been on this site and I wanted to start giving back.

I don't see why this is even an issue, and honestly I am surprised that so many people even agree with it. It's their money etc etc. Either way someone has donated at least $149.25 towards the site to keep it running.
