I wouldn't ever wanna be a bin man.

You need to buck up your ideas bro, you won't survive being a bin man all your life.
You're gonna need to at least try and get 5 GCSE's including English, Maths & Science because that can get you onto any course you wanna do in college :p

All i'm saying is, when you're older stuck being a bin man you'll look back on this and regret having this attitude towards your education if you don't get a decent amount of GCSE's.

It's up to you to change that though.

I've tried but I really can't change the way I think.

Well you said you love IT, why not try pursue a career in that?
Or look for something else you enjoy.

Il give you me as an example. At school, I done terrible. Dint pass many GCSE's but did pass something that I wanted to get into; IT.

Since school, I knew I wanted to be in IT. So I went to college where I learnt a whole host of IT stuff which put me on target where I am now - working in a school doing IT Support.

Aim high and you shall achieve.

I love ICT, I'm taking it for my GCSEs, honestly I was day-dreaming the other day and I was thinking to myself how I'd love to do what you do.
You might be disappointed with ict dude. It is boring as shite. That's all you do is use exel and it is more word based (which is mind numbing)... however, please don't let that course put you off computers, they are much more fun than that! If you have the option for computing then do that instead.
The ICT courses at School are pretty dog shite, but your doing it for a year or so and aslong as you get the qualification it doesn't really matter, I've just landed an apprenticeship as a IT Support Engineer not had my first day yet but it seems really good and a department i would like to work in, i didn't like IT at school but if i didn't take it i wouldn't have an apprenticeship today, so IMO its worth taking it, some parts will be enjoyable.

The only enjoyment i had out of it was laughing hard at the teacher with a degree in computers when she said "what is thermal paste" when we all told her she had to apply it LOL

This probably varies depending on the person, but, from my experience, I couldn't motivate myself to care about school for the first few years. Then things happened within my family that meant I HAD to care about it and do well.

Perhaps you are like me, and it's not something which you can choose to care about, but it's something which you need to be forced to care about by external factors and pressures.

I understand the feeling though.

With so many other things going on in the world, it's hard to see how any of what you do in your life matters, even to those around you and yourself to a certain extent.
Or you fail to see a future in which you aren't well-off enough to survive, or at least have a job which allows you to live a relatively decent life, especially when there are older people in your life who constantly talk about how little education they had but they are well-off now anyway.

That was just my experience though, you might have different thought processes behind it, like believing that everything will work out in the end, letting the chips fall where they may and playing the hand you're dealt.

Financial instability is a great motivator.

Couldn't say it any better.
