Pdx wrote because saying that you can break a baby out of a car but not a living, breathing animal is disgusting.

The way you phrase that makes it seem like you value a baby's life as equal, if not less, to that of a dog.

Definitely an equal being. If it came across as anything different I definitely didn't mean it.

A human's life is equal to a dog's?

Dogs are equal to humans.

While that is a nice sentiment and is true outside of the context of human emotions, if you had to choose whether you saved a baby or a dog I'm pretty certain you would go for the baby, or at least I hope the majority of people would.

I would say they are equal in most situations, but not in all.

In this situation they should definitely be equal under the law though.

Oh of course I would. There wouldn't be a shadow of a doubt that I wouldn't save the baby over the animal if I had to choose. I would hate having to choose but it would be the baby in a heartbeat.

People who leave either their babies or their animals in a hot vehicle should be charged with attempted murder charges.

I do agree that their should be laws protecting animals under situations such as this but the person knowingly broke the law.

I think the vet should pay to replace the window and then the charges should be dropped. Then the owner of the dog should have his animal taken away for animal abuse.

If you didn't know he was a Veteran.
Random Man Brakes into Your Car because your dog was inside, you would be pissed about the window but still he saved the dog. bit of a "cu ntish" move from the owner.
But if he called police about the dog in car instead of smashing it they would have been able come down and brake the window and none would have been charged.

It pisses me off that the owner pressed charges because of his car.
Do you not care about your pet? What an ignorant bitch.
People who don't respect animals and their needs sicken me. Don't ever leave a dog in a hot car. Take your **** Mustang and shove it.
I'd trash his car to save that dog. Poor little guy has to live with that selfish asshole.

Let me stop there before I say something illegal.

Well yes it is worth breaking the window if the dog is going to die or suffering from the heat, a broken window isn't more important than the dogs life and health. Or do you think it is?
