As a teen I was "diagnosed" with depersonalization disorder. Over the years I've had numerous out of body like episodes. The best way I can describe it is that you just don't feel one with yourself. You feel that some how you may not be real or as if you're outside of your body watching yourself. You feel that you are detached from your own thoughts and emotions. It can be some what terrifying at times. It doesn't really bother me as much now other than particularly stressful weeks where I may not be sleeping well. I don't know if this is the type of out of body experience you're asking for but, this is just my experiences with them
