It's not personal preference. The 4440 absolutely rips the 8350 to pieces in per core performance. It also has a better upgrade route, with options of an i7 or a choice of xeon's. So yes, the i5-4440 "without a k" definitely does "outdue" the FX-8350.

Better Core Performance is all it has. The k mean it has the multiplier. Which the 4440 doesn't have. Google it. look at this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

they are ALMOST literally the same besides the fx8350 is better in memory intensive applications and multi threaded performance, overall the i5 is .01 better and thats because they had to choose a winner. Now if you factor in the extra money you could save for .01. This decision is personal preference. Point proven leave me alone.

Better per core performance is not all the 4440 has. As I mentioned, the 4440 has better upgradeability than the 8350. I's also 2 years newer. The 4440 has significantly better per core performance and an i7/xeon is going to beat an 8350 in multi-tasking anyway. Yes, the 4440 is a locked CPU, I know that but it doesn't mean it's a lesser performing CPU than the 8350. It's 100% not personal preference. I could walk up to you and say "Radeon HD 7770 beats a GTX 970 btw", doesn't mean I'm right.

You do a lot of multi tasking so just get a 8320/8350 and get a i7 later down the line..

My overclocked 8350 black edition would straight up win in a comparision against an i5. I know an i7 is better than a 8350 but lets be honest thats a lot more money than an i5 which is already more expensive than a 8350. You could upgrade from an 8350 to an i7.

Fine. I suppose you could save for a CPU upgrade when Skylake comes out instead and take an AMD upgrade for now. My point still stands though. Also, don't get an 8350. The 8320 is cheaper and a better choice by far, since the 8350 is just a factory overclocked 8320.
