Quick Question:

I game and do alot of multi tasking on my computer, but i was wondering whether its worth upgrading from an AMD 6300FX processor overclocked to 4.1 Ghz from 3.5 to an AMD 8350 Processor?

Thanks

why not get the 4.0? or maybe black edition 4.2? Shouldn't be that much in between them.

Maybe, but my question is, is it worth it doing the upgrade

i personally have a 8350 black edition and i love it. an extra 2 cores. But you know you do you.
Also its def an upgrade. It will out preform 6300fx. If you have the money and you need a bit of a performance upgrade go for it you could also overclock it as well.

Because the cost increase don't justify the performance difference since its only a mild overclock between the 8320 & 8350

Op: IMO, it would be a stupid move to go from the 6300 to the 8320 since you probably won't even use the 2 extra cores even when multi tasking.

You should save up and move to the Intel platform for your next upgrade

I was waiting for that intel bandwagon to come rolling up. Its almost 100 dollars more for an i5 than a 8350 so.
Edit: i am not saying a i5 is worse i am just stating facts. A 8350 is 100$ cheaper than a decent i5. I know for a fact that a i3 isnt even close to as good as a fx8350 for gaming. Dislike be for stating the truth. Intel is better for pricey builds but if you trying to ball on a budget get the AMD.

You should have no problem. I recommend a new psu though if you want to overclock it. But it will be fine if not just not very power saving.

"Its almost 100 dollars more for an i5 than a 8350 so."
So what? The cost of an i5 is justified it's worth it. It's not "that intel bandwagon". You are looking for an answer we're giving you one. Upgrading to an i5-4440 would cost you around $215, opposed to $140 for the 8350. The FX-8350 is a poor choice anyway, it's pretty much a factory overclocked 8320 with a larger price tag, just get a 8320 and oc it yourself, if anything.

Also, keep in mind, you can pick up a Pentium G3258 and a Z87/Z97 chipset board for the same price, or less than an 8350 and OC the Pentium, save up for either an i5 or i7 which is going to out-perform an 8320(or 8350).

Intel Core i5-4440 without a k is not going to outdue the amd fx-8350
AMD FX-8350 140$
this is all personal preference. I think the fx-8350 is better speaking i have seen some pushing 4.8 oc. So you do you. Personal preference. Dont listen to anyone but yourself if you want intel get intel you want amd get amd.
