ISIS leader threatens to invade Russia

MOSCOW, October 10 (RIA Novosti) - In a telephone conversation with his father, an Islamic State (IS) commander, Tarkhan Batirashvili, also known as Omar al-Shishani or Omar the Chechen, stated that the militant group plans to invade Russia, Bloomberg reported.

"He said "don't worry dad, I'll come home and show the Russians,'" Bloomberg quoted Temur Batirashvili, the father of the IS commander, as saying Thursday.
"I have many thousands following me now and I'll get more. We'll have our revenge against Russia," Omar the Chechen told his father, according to Bloomberg.

In September, the IS issued a video threatening to include Chechnya into its self-proclaimed Islamic caliphate.

In late September, Chechen Republic head Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his Instagram account that Russia had enough power and the means to stop terrorists from crossing its borders.

"Taking all responsibility, I declare that those who have voiced a threat against Russia or who have mentioned the name of our President Vladimir Putin will be destroyed right where they made their statement. We will not wait for them to get behind the steering wheel of a plane. They will go where his fellow terrorists are rotting," Kadyrov wrote.

Several hundred individuals from the United States and Canada, as well as about 500 Britons are believed to be fighting for the IS.

There are also militants from other countries among IS fighters.

The IS, a sectarian Sunni Muslim militia, is also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

It seized large parts of Iraq and Syria and proclaimed an Islamic caliphate on the areas under its control. Its rapid advance in northern Iraq triggered a response from Washington, which launched airstrikes against the insurgents fighting on the Iraqi soil in August.

The military campaign was subsequently extended to Syria, with an international coalition set up to defeat the extremists.

According to the US State Department, the coalition currently comprises more than 60 countries, including Arab League members and a number of European countries.

This was originally posted by Incapable, but his post was closed and he was told to post it here instead, which he hasn't yet, so I'm jumping the gun, sorry Incapable.

This is hilarious though.

Russia being all unconquerable.
They'd probably try doing it in the Winter too.

If you read up on what Ramzan Kadyrov has done, I wouldn't take his threats lightly.
Ex. Many accusations of murder and torture. Each accuser (other than the UN), has been murdered.

I don't care who it is that does it, Americans (preferably) or the Russians, I'd just like to see ISIS destroyed.

Two Austrian teenage girls who ran away to Syria to join Islamic State fighters are beginning to regret their decision. Security service insiders told Austrian media that the girls have managed to contact families and one wants to go home.

The pair left home to join Islamic State (also known as ISIS, or ISIL) in April. Little information was immediately known, aside from that one had been 16 and one 14 at the time of their departure. Both reportedly married Chechen fighters after their arrival in Syria and became pregnant.

Samra Kesinovic and her friend, Sabina Selimovic, are children of Bosnian migrants, but grew up in Vienna. On their departure from Austria, they left a note, telling their parents: Dont look for us. We will serve Allah and we will die for him.

The media might have just killed these 2 girls.
If they try to get away now and fail they'll probably be executed for apostasy, now that ISIS know what they look like/who they are.
I realize that apostasy is renouncing Islam, in this case, but is it really that hard to say that ISIS isn't going to see them trying to leave as a form of renunciation?
I guess only time will tell, but I wouldn't put it past them.

Is there any backstory as to why these girls joined ISIS?

Like honestly.. Who even thinks "Hey. I'm going to go join ISIS."
There has to be some reason behind it.

Did the girls believe in the "cause" that they're fighting for or what?

I read several articles and found no specific reason but I have a couple of theories.

Knowing girls that age, they were probably just mad at the world and hated their "terrible" lives at home in Austria. Maybe they got grounded? Couldn't go out with their friends? Couldn't get the new iPhone 6? Who really knows.

Edit: Just found this that may or may not tell why.

The two Austrian teenagers who became poster girls for the jihad in Syria are now desperate to come home after becoming disillusioned with their new lifestyles.

Samra Kesinovic, 17, and Sabina Selimovic, 15, who grew up in Vienna and enjoyed the freedom to wear whatever they wanted and to meet whoever they wanted, were told by radical preacher Ebu Tejma at a local mosque about the evils of their lifestyle. Clerics persuaded the girls that the only way to know true peace was to head to Syria and take part in the holy war.

The twohad started lecturing classmates about their lifestyles and were even suspected of a vandalism attack at their school that called for jihad.

Thousands of Yazidi women sold as sex slaves 'for theological reasons', says Isil

Article in Islamic State's English-language online magazine Dabiq not only admits selling Yazidi women into sex slavery but justifies it according to the theological rulings of early Islam

Islamic State jihadists have given detailed theological reasons justifying why they have taken thousands of women from the Iraqi Yazidi minority and sold them into sex slavery.
A new article in the Islamic State English-language online magazine Dabiq not only admits the practice but justifies it according to the theological rulings of early Islam.
"After capture, the Yazidi women and children were then divided according to the Sharia amongst the fighters of the Islamic State who participated," the article says.
It says there is a difference between women from Muslim sects the jihadists regard as heretical, who can be considered as "apostates", and the so-called mushrikin - polytheists and pagans.

"Their women could be enslaved, unlike female apostates."
The women were seized when the group swept across parts of northern Iraq in early August.
When the jihadists attacked areas occupied by Yazidis, the West's attention focused on the tens of thousands of refugees who crowded on to the barren hills of nearby Mount Sinjar, before they were rescued by Kurdish fighters.
But thousands more were surrounded and captured in nearby towns and villages.
The article does not specify that they are to be used as sex slaves, but later on equates them with "concubines".

More reason to wipe out anyone who is a part of or even associates with ISIL; they are a cancer. Governments around the world have taken too lightly to the situation in the middle east.

Armed UK Drones Deployed in Iraq to Fight ISIS

Britain will send armed Reaper drones to Iraq to fight Islamic State (IS formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants and support British Tornado jets already striking jihadi vehicles and positions.

Defence Secretary Michael Fallon told MPs in a written statement on Thursday that Reapers were being re-deployed from Afghanistan.

The drones would primarily serve an intelligence gathering function in northern Iraq, but will also carry Hellfire missiles and GBU-12 500lb laser-guided bombs to strike against IS targets.
