I am not sure if anyone else here has experienced something similar to this. Basically, a few days ago, someone in my school had a child. The girl who had a child has turned 15 not that long ago and the babies father is almost 16. I find this horrific. Neither the mother nor the father has a job and they are both still in full-time education. This means for the most part, the grandparents will be caring for this child.

Also, if anyone was wondering.. I am in Scotland, in the UK.

As an American who's somewhat more exposed to this than Euro-Countries, it's horrifying. Unfortunately at the same time, it's a realistic expectation of todays youth. Sh*t sucks.

It happens a lot where I live. I know at least 6 girls who are under 18 and have children. It's nice that they're so happy about it and happy about starting a family but IMO, they're too young. It's likely that these young couples who are having babies, don't even love each other, they just think they do because their hormones tell them otherwise.

I agree, I mean, if children are going to "do it" they should at least wrap it first.

It's unlikely that children are going to stop having sex. I mean, with the freedoms now-a-days and loose punishments for everything, there is no risk for them having sex. I am 16 myself, and have never had sex. I am one of the few teenagers who is "sex-crazy". I just think that these children should be smart before they have sex, so as not to ruin their entire lives. Like, use a condom and not "pull out".

I know a lot of people in the UK to have children at a young age, one of my past friends is 17 and has a kid, if she is going to stay with her partner and raise the child the right way, I have no problem, but at the age of 15 and still in education or not , that isn't right and is so harsh on the mother and the child, which is usually ditched by the male.

As far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter if the parent is still in full time education or not. As long as they are legally an adult(16 years old) then I'm happy to accept their choice.

What bothers me the most about this is when a whole network has television shows celebrating a 16 year old being the most idiotic, irresponsible wh0re.

It's absurd! I'm a 16 year old virgin (by choice boys, if you believe me or not, lolz) and I don't get high or drink, where's my show?? It's the attention. I know it.

Even freaking YouTube channels, a 16 year old with 50k subscribers about her baby and being a teen mom. I have a burning hatred at the fact they do it, maybe not so much personally as I don't know them, but the content of the videos gives me all the reason to hate them. I really don't know why I'm so passionate about this topic...

I think some girls have a baby as soon as they leave school is because they don't want a job and claim benefits. Pretty pathetic
